The Winery
Stratsin Winery is located in the region of Pomorie – an area with ancient traditions in the winemaking. The winery began operation in 2015 and is provided with modern and advanced equipment. It is oriented towards the production of high-quality varieties of wines with a protected geographical indication (PGI).
The Vineyards
Every winemaker will tell you that it is more important how things are developing in the vineyard than in the winery. Since wine is made from grapes, any effect on the fruit can also affect the content in the glass. That is why our philosophy states “wine begins to form on the vineyard.”
The winery owns over 300 decars of its own vineyards, including the most famous varieties or the “stars” of the wine world. These are the white ones: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscat, and the red ones: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Vineyards are planted between 2006 and 2010, with the planting material supplied by France. Varieties, rootstocks and clones of vines are selected individually for each variety, as we have strived to offer only high quality wines. The vineyards are located at the foot of Pomorie and in the area of the winery.
The Terroir
Terroir means soil or land, but translated in the language of wine, the term has taken another meaning, it defines the taste according to the location or literally the “taste of the place”. Applied in the narrow sense, the terroir gives the wine its individual taste and fragrance. The proximity of the Black Sea contributes to the favorable climate of the region. Winter is soft, autumn is long and warm, spring – cool, and summer – warm and humid. Daily and night breezes, as well as good weather conditions, favor the good ripening and accumulation of fine fruit flavors.
